Robert O’Reilly is an American stage, film, and television actor, born on March 25, 1950. He is best known for his recurring role as Chancellor Gowron in the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. His distinctive acting choice of flaring his eyes landed him the role of the Klingon leader.
His career includes over 100 film and TV roles, often playing villainous or antagonistic characters. He has appeared in movies like The Mask and on shows such as MacGyver, Knight Rider, and Cheers. A veteran theater performer, O’Reilly has acted on Broadway and at Carnegie Hall. In 1981, he won a Drama-Logue Award for directing the play Getting Out
